Just another installment of what Duke has been up to these hot, hot days of summer.
We took at trip with some other friends over to Elberta for some blueberry picking and a picnic. Duke was a trooper and really enjoyed picking blueberries.

He was so proud of the blueberries he picked. He constantly ran over to me to show me what he had. And he constantly wandered off to find the perfect bush with the most berries.

I am not sure our friend, Kyler, was as enthusiastic about the picking.

After all that hard work, we sat under the big shade tree for a picnic. Duke worked up quite an appetite and ate more in one sitting than I have seen him eat in some time and he was still hungry when we got home.

Duke is slightly addicted to the show ‘Wipeout’ this summer. So, on a particularly hot day, I ran by Wal-Mart to find a sprinkler for him to play in. The ones that are specifically targeted to kids are ridiculously priced, so I drug him back to the garden department. And voila! The perfect sprinkler for $6.97. Once I got it setup, he pretended that he was a contestant on Wipeout and had created quite the imaginary obstacle course in our backyard.

And you might guess who the Wipeout champion was…

We also visited the newly renovated Roger Scott pool. Parents, this is a super nice pool and at only $4 for kids 5 and over (under 4 are free), it’s the perfect way to cool down.

It also does a great job of wearing the kiddos out.

And let’s not forget the Blue Angels airshow. You never know when the Blues might sneak up on you, so to be safe, Duke wore these the majority of the day.

And no matter how hot it is outside, this kid never gets tired of going to the park. We tried going at 6:00, but you will see that it was still crazy hot. But still fun!

Thanks for checking in on the escapades of Duke. See you at our next installment.
