Trying New Things

As a photographer, it is always fun to try new things.  My friend and fellow photographer, Kelly, wrote about this very thing on her blog this morning.  I wanted to try some things that I had seen on Beth Jansen’s blog.  If you don’t know who Beth Jansen is, run on over to her blog and take a peek.  She is a photographer based in Oklahoma City and I think she is just amazing.  So, I called up my friend, Valerie, and asked if she would bring her sweet baby boy over.  Some of you may recognize this little man from my old blog.  He has grown since the last time you saw him.

We started out with this shot in the basket.

Then we tried the Beth Jansen shot.  I will preface this by saying that we did not “get the shot”.  But it was fun to try.

So, we tried a different approach.  He did not like this one at all!  Can you tell?

I did get one smile from him during this attempt.

Then we put him back in the basket where he fell asleep.

But not for long.  However, these last two shots are my favorites!

Valerie, thank you for coming over and letting me “practice” with your baby.  See, I told you we got some good shots.  And Tyler, thank you for being such a good sport.
